⚔️🕯🇫🇷[Gildas Lebeurier, le soldat français aux 5 guerres]🇬🇧🕯⚔️ Do you know Gildas Lebeurier, one of the most decorated soldiers in French military history? Engaged at 17 in the Resistance then soldier of Free France, veteran of the Korean and Indochina wars, the clashes of the Suez Canal and the Algerian war. Awarded dozens of decorations, including the prestigious Silver Star for charging with the bayonet and being named Grand Officer of the Legion of Honor! Holder of 13 citations, he will die … of old age, at 92! ⬇️⬇️ Gildas was born on March 22, 1925. When Germany invaded France, he was only 15 years old. He decided, in 1942, at the age of 17, to form a group of resistance fighters with high school friends and participated in several actions in Brittany, before joining the maquis of the French Forces of the interior of Saint-Laurent in Plouégat-Guérand. Second lieutenant in a “fictitious capacity”, Gildas commands the Franc Liberation North Group and takes part in the liberation of Morlaix (8 August 1944) then in the fighting in the Lorient pocket after joining the 118th #Infantry Regiment. ⚔️ He was injured twice in the fighting and was quoted twice (including one at the order of the Army). He decided to stay in the army: appointed reserve second lieutenant, he became a paratrooper, before being appointed lieutenant on June 10, 1947. In 1948, he joined Indochina in the 2nd #Colonial Battalion of #Commandos Parachutists . He distinguished himself there, with two new citations (including one to the order of the Army). He was made Chevalier of the Legion of Honor on December 30, 1948. In 1950, Lieutenant Lebeurier returned to France. ⚔️ He was quickly sent back, this time to Korea, with the French Battalion of the UN. In Wonju, by – 35 degrees, on steep reliefs, Lebeurier will still show his bravery on January 10, 1951 by leading his 25 men, short of ammunition, in a bayonet charge, to the cry of “Mort aux cons !”, against a North Korean company which fled in disorder in front of so much audacity #ARMY #ARMY #WAR #WAR #WWII #WW2 #RESISTANCE #UN #KOREA #INDOCHINE #ALGERIA #PARACHUTIST #PARA #LEGION #NATO
